Turbulence Training Fat Loss Transformation Update

21 Nov

Decided to make a quick update on my progress with the fat loss transformation challenge. I’ve been fasting twice a week and doing two Turbulence Training body weight circuits three times per week in addition to doing three full body workouts per week.

Obviously the results for two weeks of are not very dramatic. I’m going to step up my game. Cutting out grains and sugar and gonna do three body weight circuits instead of two. I have 41 days to do it. I’m pumped!

    Hey Yavor,
First time i’m checking out your blog. Keep up the good work. You’re right. Not dramatic results, but they’re there. From personal experience, cutting the grains and sugars will be huge. You’ll see some dramatic stuff as you lose the water weight that you retain in your muscles due to glycogen buildup from carbs. Good luck!

    Hi Yavor,

I was reading about Turbulence Training recently so will be interested to see your results. I’ve been on a low carb (simple carbs anyway) diet for a while and I do think it makes a difference.

    Good luck!

    Chris,

I don’t think there is difference between simple carbs (i.e. sugar) and complex carbs (i.e. bread) in regards to how your body will change. Also, the major thing is to create a caloric deficit. You can lose weight going high carb. It is just easier going low carb.

The body weight circuits from Turbulence Training are an effective way to workout at home. But you have to push yourself. You have to be mentally tough.

    Anyways, I’ll keep you posted.

    Yavor,

First time poking around your website. Some pretty great results for a mere two weeks – hope you were able to keep it up!

RE your response to Chris, you’re right – the total carb load does make a difference, the type of carbohydrate not as much. Whether simple or complex, all carbohydrates eventually break down into glucose, which your body deals with in only one way – secrete insulin to shift that glucose either into muscle cells for utilization or into fat cells for storage (more likely the latter if insulin levels are high). That’s why losing weight on high-carb diets is more difficult then on low-carb – the hormonal response you get trends towards the storage of fat as opposed to the burning of fat for energy.

I wish you continued progress in your fat loss and your workouts. Keep up the blogging!

    Eugene,
Thanks for stopping by. Excellent explanation.

Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back to busting ass in my training and diet.

    Hi Yavor,

Thanks for commenting on the blog and for the email. Sorry I haven’t replied sooner, or put up my little report. I’ve been working 60-70 hour weeks, holding down two jobs. Its nuts but keeps me active.

Great progress by the way on your challenge. I couldn’t imagine totally cutting out carbs altogether, besides I am trying to bulk up, whilst doing my best to remain lean at the same time. We’ll see how it goes though.

Hope to speak to you soon buddy.

Hey Yavor, Im Kane, a regular reader of Rusty’s site, and ive also been on yours about once a week for the last few months! I’m just wondering how you got on with this? The only update I can see is one after two weeks. Im not sure on which dates you started etc… just wondering how its all going as I’m thinking of doing a blog tracking my progress also.

Take care man! Thanks for all the tips I’ve picked up here!

    Kane,

this challenge ended some time in December but I just never got around to doing the final shots. Anyway – here are my tips for you:

    - if you are fasting to create caloric deficit, make sure to break the fast with a big salad or an apple
    - make sure you have a home/emergency routine to train when/if you cannot go to a gym – check out the body weight circuits Rusty posted
    - focus on the small steps (i.e 1lb down, then 1 more, etc)

Oh – and let me know when you have you blog up so I can follow your progress.
