Turbulence Training — My Fat Loss Transformation Contest + Win Free Chinup Coaching

November 9, 20084 Comments

A few days ago I decided to take some photos of one of my clients, Spas, so that we can keep track of his progress. So I took a pic of him and was like, why not take a photo of myself too. I was in for a big surprise…

How I Got Inspired To Do This Transformation.

You see, I imagined myself to be in a much better shape. But pictures don’t lie. Back in the summer I was with visible abs when flexed. I was fasting twice a week, training with weights 4 times per week, jumping rope after the weights, and then I was off to a pool for 20-30 minutes of swimming sprints. Oh, and I also played pickup basketball games. Man, did I have too much time on my hands.

And Then Came Fall

I enrolled to a German class, so no time for gym so often. Plus, I had a lot of Hausaufgabe (word for homework in German… I thought it would be funny…). I started a new full body routine instead of the four day split I was on. The new workout produces faster progress in load and reps but is also more draining. So no energy left for jumping rope (or anything else for that matter) after the workout. To top this off, I have no desire to go swimming in the cold weather and I stopped playing basketball because of anterior knee pain. I am not naturally lean and pack on fat easily…

Here Is The Deal

I’ve decided to completely transform my physique by the end of the year. My goal is simple. I will be 6% body fat by December 31, 2008. Kinda high and scary sounding goal, right. I’ve heard goals are supposed to be like that.

Why Lose Fat with Turbulence Training?

I no longer want to go swimming during the winter. My current Full Body Workout routine doesn’t leave me with much energy to jump rope or do anything really after the weights. So I can train for fat loss on off days. I don’t want to run in the cold weather. My buddies play basketball on Sundays, but my knee hurts…

So What Does This Leave Me With…

…is old school body weight training at home. I have some experience with bodyweight training. Used to do a workout called combat conditioning – squats, push ups and wrestler’s bridge. I know that this kind of training works but I got tired of coming up with my own workouts. I got Craig Ballantyne’s Turbulence Training course because it has a huge section for body weight only fat loss workouts. In fact, it has 6 months’ worth of detailed step by step workouts so I don’t have to think at all – just follow the instruction. Plus the guy is ripped…

The Contest

It’s simple really. Whoever achieves the most dramatic transformation between now and Dec 31, will win. Winner will be announced Jan 2 and will win free chin-up coaching from me + other surprise gifts. I will set-up voting on the site so everybody can participate in selecting the biggest transformation.

My Own Plan

I will be fasting twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays – on these days I don’t weight train. I will train with a full body routine in the gym on Saturdays (already trained this Saturday), Mondays and Wednesdays. I will do short Turbulence Training body weight circuits at least 3 days per week at home.

Action Plan

Here is what I got: a challenge to transform yourself the most before the end of the year. Here is what you get: first prize winner gets to be coached in chinup mastery by me. I’ll also add some more surprise bonuses! Plus, you get to compete with other cool guys (and yourself). If you don’t win, at least you’ll get a better bod. Step it up, guys! What I want you to do: respond to this post announcing your participation. Picture is optional now, though you’ll need some proof in the form of a before-after shot either holding a paper or some other proof of the date for the end of the competition – December 31.

Update – two weeks later here is the first after photo.
